Hi.
I'm so sorry to ask this but recently, our car broke down and we were
forced to spend a good chunk of April's rent, to fix it.
We live deep in the woods where there is no public transit and town
is a 45 minute drive away, so we had no choice but to pay for the fix.
These past three months, I've been working hard to improve things.
I've been pumping out weekly pages without sacrificing quality and
honestly, things have been falling back into place. But then one night
while driving home with groceries, the poor car suddenly died. There is
no public transit out here, so... one awkward phone call to a friend
later, and we and our groceries got a ride home, abandoning the car on
the empty forest road.
The next morning, we made an appointment with a mechanic. Days
later, it was time for our appointment, but we needed to get the car. We
hitchhiked there and paid for the tow to the far away mechanic. Our
hope was for the repair to be...
A. Cheap and
B. Completed that day, since without our car, we had no way to get back home.
It was neither of those things. After a few hours of waiting
outside, we were told that it was a pricey fix and the part needed
wouldn't be in for almost week. I asked if he had a loaner car and he
said he had two, but both were already in use. I tried calling for a
ride home, but that wasn't happening. So I was forced to rent a car from
the only rental place in town. It was $100+ a day and I had to rent it
until the part came in.
All of this ate painfully into April's rent. And so now, on April
4th... I'm desperate to pay that rent. If you could manage even a small
donation, I would be SO grateful. If you can't, I completely understand.
Either way, thank you. :)
