Frequently Asked Questions
Is the comic drawn on paper or is it all created purely with a computer?
It's first pencilled and inked
on paper and then scanned into the computer where colours and text are added.
Do you make up the story as you go along or do you have it all planned out?
Carefully planned out. The
writing stage of the story is completed and it does have an ending. Although it'll take me a very long time to reach that
ending and I really couldn't tell you how many pages or books it's going to take.
When is Book Two coming out?
The release date of Book Two is unknown right now, but it will be out
eventually.
What happened to Minmax and Forgath? Will we ever see them again?
Yes. Before they can make their
return though, some other storyline stuff has to happen. Once they're back, they'll become a big part of the comic again.
Why isn't the comic funny anymore?
Goblins is a comic that bounces back and forth between comedy
and serious drama/action. Because the creation of a webcomic is such a slow one, it can seem like I've given up on ever
trying to make the readers laugh again, simply because I've been drawing serious stuff for months. But the comedy will
always return just as the drama/action will always be ready to interupt the gags. It just takes awhile sometimes. In the
beginning of the comic, I found comedy to be a great way to set scenes and introduce characters. That is why there were
more attempts at humour early on.
Will it annoy you if I come up and talk to you or ask questions if I see you at a con or some place?
(This is a question I mostly get while I'm at a con, but I've gotten it online too)
I love talking about the comic and meeting the readers and fans, so it's always cool to "pester" me about Goblins,
especially if I'm at a convention, where I'm always up for meeting tons of new people. It's funny how many times I've
had a great conversation with someone only to have them suddenly throw a handful of apologies at me for "bothering me"
and asking me questions that I "must be sick of answering". Bother me and ask me those questions. It's cool.
I sent you an email and you never responded. Why?
I get a lot of Goblins related emails. Enough
that I sometimes can't keep up with them all. Although I read every single Goblins email I get, answering them all can be
difficult. Whether or not your email gets answered is kind of random. If I'm infront of the computer eating my lunch and
I'm reading my emails, I may end up answering a chunk of them, but if I'm checking emails during a time when I plan on leaping
back to my desk and getting back to drawing, I'm less likely to answer that many. The comic itself effects your chances of
getting answered as well. If some big plot twist just happened, I'm probably experiencing a large wave of emails, but if
nothing shocking or especially funny is going on, and you email me in the middle of the week (between the "thanks for the
update" and the "where the hell is the update" emails), my inbox is moving a lot slower and I can probably answer you pretty
quickly. I really don't mean to sound like a snob or a jerk, and I love getting those friendly emails that put a smile on my
face. If you've sent me something that you really wanted an answer to and never got one, feel free to email me again and
let me know that you really want an answer, but haven't gotten one. I'll get to it. Also, be sure to mention Goblins in
the title so I know that it's not spam.
